Monday Link Ups

If you are an optimist, I am early for this link up. I am starting this post on Tuesday, the week before.
Since I am still working, I am crazy busy. I have limited time.

If you are a pessimist, I am a week late since I didn't get a post done for two of my favo linky parties. I am starting this post a day late in your eyes.

I am fine either way. I am too tired to be offended one way or the other.

I did have time to stalk, I mean browse blogs though and every one has such GREAT ideas. My to do list just keeps getting longer and longer....

This week's "made it" is of course, school related for me.

During the huge teacher Appreciation Sale, I purchased these from Miss Math Dork. I love, love, love her stuff. Everything is very professionally done. These are her "How to be a Good Mathematician Posters"

I finally printed and laminated the posters! (I love, love, love my laminator as well!!!) Click here to get your own set from her TpT store.
I am ready to hang mine up!!!
I know some of you think this may take too much ink. If you think that, use it as a power point. I plan to show it that way to my kiddos, but I want them up all year long. This way they are sturdy and I can refer to them when my kids get lazy, frustrated, etc...

My Must have is a home product.
I must have coffee and since Christmas I must have my K-Cups.
Keurig® Vue® V700 Brewing System
My husband and I both bought one for each other for Christmas. We decided great minds think alike. We only kept one. I absolutely could not start my day without coffee. This has been awesome for us. We no longer waste coffee. We have one at work as well, it has been very nice to have that in our workroom.
I normally only drink coffee at home. I have been known to have multiple cups of coffee at home. I also drink coffee at night. It does not keep me up at night. I love the flavors and options I have with the K-cups and yes, it may be more expensive, but since we don't have a Starbucks any where close to us, I accept the splurge!

Happy Monday everyone!

Monday Made It & Must Have Monday

It's Monday!!!!

I am  not yet in vacation mode because I am teaching summer school. I am still in school making mode.

So, my Monday Made Its are all school related.

First, I saw something on Pinterest and it sparked me to make these:

They are available here

I am teaching 5th graders during summer school. I am specifically teaching fifth graders who failed our state test twice and have to take it a third time in two weeks. I will have three sections, each with ten kids.

I want to keep it interesting for them and for me. I have been searching through our summer school curriculum and creating small group and station type work. But, also since it is summer, I am not reinventing the wheel. I am printing and laminating activity masters.

If you follow me, you may know I bought a Scotch laminator. If it moves, I am laminating it!!!! I LOVE this thing and am getting the most use of it possible. Best school purchase ever!!!

And since it is summer....

My Must Have Monday will not be school related. It will be baseball related.

Our life revolves around my 7 year olds baseball. We spent 5 hours on Saturday at baseball. It was H-O-T!
These three things are essential:

Happy Monday all!

Monday Made it & Must Have Mondays

Two linkies on this Monday morning.

It's my last Monday to work this school year. YAHOOEY!

As I clean my room for the summer, this is my MUST HAVE!

When I started teaching, this was all we had and it was better than nothing. But, it just didn't work as well.

I wanted something for the end of the year gifts.  Saw this idea on Pinterest.
Cute Orange Gift Bag-an orange bag with orange soda, Cheetos, Reese's pieces and other orange items.
http://makingmemorieswithyourkids.com/2012/06/orange-you-glad-its-summer-gift-idea/

I have been searching for whatever I can that is orange. These are the things I collected. I had 11 gifts to buy so I had to be thrifty. The food was easy. But, I wanted more than just food items.

fingernail polish, nail file, bath sponge, peach tea, Kit-Kat, orange cream gun, cheese crackers,
Reeses cup, and an orange Popsicle
I made these tags.

Then filled plastic jars I bought in December at Target. We found these after Christmas when they were 70% off. I knew instantly I wanted a bunch. I knew we would eat the goodies and I would reuse the jars. They are perfect. I gave my son's teacher one stuffed for teacher appreciation in May. The rest, I am giving to my department this week as an end of the year gift. (there are 8 of them)

Imagine the tag tied around with orange ribbon. Still have a few days....

I found orange pails for my son's teacher and the day care teachers for my youngest.

Pinterest was a lifesaver for me. I learned how to start with this:

and go to this:

  • Soak the plastic jar in hot water. (the longer the better)
  • Then wipe peanut butter over the sticky part.

  •  Let sit for 10 minutes and wipe.
Yes, peanut butter! It was mind blowing to me!!!! But, it works and that's what matters to me! I keep every jar we use. This makes reusing them so much easier.

Must Have Mondays-I gave in to Peer Pressure

It's Monday, and I am off! Last day of a very long weekend.

It's also time for Must Have Monday with Teaching with a Touch of Twang.

I gave in to peer pressure. Last week, several posts were about the Scotch Laminator.

I bought one four days later and have been a laminating fool since!

Multiplying Fractions Pirate Style from Finding Joy In 6th Grade

Whack and Integer from Finding Joy in 6th Grade

Whack an Order of Operations from Finding Joy in 6th Grade

Place Value Task Cards from Hodges Herald

This laminator is a MUST have and I can honestly see why some teachers have more than one. It's crazy affordable and extremely sturdy laminating!

Well worth every penny!!! The only downside? I need to go buy more colored ink to keep printing and laminating.

HAPPY MONDAY!

Must Have Mondays

I am linking up with Teaching with a Touch of Twang for Must Have Mondays.
My first one is my Time Timer. I have blogged about this several times. Click here and here for those posts. Sorry for the repeat ladies, but I live and die by this thing.

I have 50 minutes classes and this is the best visual for me to keep pace of my lessons. Plus, my students NEVER ask, how much time is left? Most of the time I hear, "wow, class is almost over!"

Can't wait to see your must haves!
