Five for Friday-Math Notebook Edition

Once again, it's Friday from a full and busy week. Time to link with Doodle Bugs for 5 for Friday.

I started this week with 2/3 of my work out buddies.
We completed an 8k run. I like 5k runs more, but it was good afterward when we said, we finished. I was pleased with my time, there were lots of hills! Our "sergeant" as we call her, won 3rd place in her age group. She ran fast and was still upset with herself because she "could have one better!" We just roll our eyes at her. I was just glad I didn't pass out!

Then math, math, math note booking fun.

We started our Unit 2 this week, factors, factors and more factors!

Prime factorization: Thanks to Runde's Room for this cute idea!
The left side is a warm up the next day. This way students can show what they know.

This lead to Exponents
I have never taken notes on exponents, but I know this is going to make a huge difference next week we start order of operations.

Greatest Common Factor:

This is FREE here.

Least Common Multiple
Saw this on Pinterest this summer. It was easy and quick and the kiddos loved how big the M was. Next week, they will write on the left side about how to find the LCM or I might do the difference between factors and multiples since they seem to get those confused.

It's Friday night, it's raining and we are off to our local Mexican restaurant with friends for yummy food and even yummiest drinks! Oh happy day!

Friday!!!!! (time for some Linky's)

So many great Linky party's, I can never do just one anymore.

Found this cool link with Teacher to the Core

And because it's Friday!!!
These two activities could be used for test review in a different way.My students LOVE scavenger hunts. They have realized now though that they are learning something, but they are grateful to be out of their seats and not doing a "worksheet". Hope they are useful.

Scavenger Hunts

It's Friday, so how about some freebies!

I had some issues with linking last week, so if you missed the 100th day freebie click here.

This week, my math lab students have been reviewing GCF and LCM.

We do these types of scavenger hunts a lot. The kids know exactly what to do. They are good center activities and good practice for kids.

The question is on the bottom. Students answer it and find the answer on top of another question. Once they go through them all, they will end back to the question they started.

Click on the pictures to get them for FREE!

Hope that you are able to use them and your kids enjoy them!

Foldables for our Math Notebooks

Linking up for Friday Freebie from TBA!

This week we made a few cool things for our Interactive Math Journals.

First, we made a vocabulary wheel. It wasn't a perfect circle, so it is off a bit, but the idea works.

Students wrote their definitions in each "pie piece". Then they randomly wrote their words on the outside. We put them in a pocket in our journals and they can "study" them anytime they want.

Next, I created a Greatest Common Factor foldable. It was from a template comparing the sun and moon, but I was proud that it was my own idea to use for GCF. (just patting myself on the back over here)

We did this together on the right side. Students will do some problems on their own tomorrow, on the left side.
